I really wanted to try my hand at making a naked'ish layer cake, and I obsessed for a while before I finally made one. My parents were coming over to visit and stay the night so that seemed like a perfect excuse to make a giant cake. I combined and morphed several different recipes from around Pinterest and ended up with this baby.</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYcwnvhZelhkaTr3HHKgCGiNWDUeBygxdC_-qNE60G9Vr0ap1mEg7GA4bcb6_JCflytmSvbiQV4E84bOPyFjx6XOxpFQzBRrGDICXOMNHhD2L9IFxbDg6ztyQ0hhK8-UtG0omTJmfDK8Gt/s1600/12309218_10102252200190168_2146472819_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYcwnvhZelhkaTr3HHKgCGiNWDUeBygxdC_-qNE60G9Vr0ap1mEg7GA4bcb6_JCflytmSvbiQV4E84bOPyFjx6XOxpFQzBRrGDICXOMNHhD2L9IFxbDg6ztyQ0hhK8-UtG0omTJmfDK8Gt/s400/12309218_10102252200190168_2146472819_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It was flavorful, spiced, moist, and not too sweet. I kind of think it looked a little bit like a giant cheeseburger once the caramel settled and spread across the top. Haha. Less caramel next time!</div>

I do this all the time. My most recent frustration: old plastic measuring spoons and cups.<br />
<br />
It was a struggle to read which spoon was which on the set that I have been using for close to 7 years. I got them from one of those bargain bins at a fabric store, of all places. NO WONDER all the printed measurements rubbed off.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEOl3rTFmLR-epYdHEpfv6E9CZ8ojF61uh3fI2KaZWmsu0BMo08ufj029WhCe4Ys_HWDLayUwRvYjaZvQSnQo7U4BwMuxdqzV82FeI0KBJQ4XUsKRY9iHY1BwWztcZ31PNoulhqvHqYUdw/s1600/12015103_10102168084818048_8843382892996653444_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEOl3rTFmLR-epYdHEpfv6E9CZ8ojF61uh3fI2KaZWmsu0BMo08ufj029WhCe4Ys_HWDLayUwRvYjaZvQSnQo7U4BwMuxdqzV82FeI0KBJQ4XUsKRY9iHY1BwWztcZ31PNoulhqvHqYUdw/s320/12015103_10102168084818048_8843382892996653444_o.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
After less searching than I anticipated, I found the prettiest set from <a href="http://www.westelm.com/">West Elm</a>. The measurements are stamped into the metal handle, and they are the most beautiful copper. These are going to last me so long, and I doubt I will manage to rub off the engraved metal, haha!<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Tim and I have been settled into our new house, aptly nicknamed ~<i>Cheddar Bay~</i>, for about two months now. Before we were even close to setting sail towards our new home, we picked up a box of the namesake biscuit mix. I knew I wanted to do something special with it, but I wasn't entirely sure what just yet. Maybe a fancy dinner with them as the side, or perhaps a romantic biscuit binge session. Endless options, really.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This led to me browsing Pinterest for ideas, where I saw random items being jammed into waffle irons. Cinnamon buns, broken up french fries.. you name it. This was interesting to me; I always love when something about food is unexpected and not how it's "supposed to be".</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
During my search is when it hit me: <b>Cheddar Bay Biscuit Waffle Breakfast Sandwiches</b>. <span style="text-align: center;">I was pretty excited, so I immediately searched to see if anyone else has had the same idea. I didn't see anything, but correct me if I'm wrong!</span></div>

Something inspired me to make a prety little video instead of just doing the usual endless step by step process photos, so here it is. A lil 4'ish minute long how-to video to follow along with. The recipe is below! <br />
<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="281" mozallowfullscreen="mozallowfullscreen" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/56178928" webkitallowfullscreen="webkitallowfullscreen" width="500"></iframe><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Recipe from 1975 Better Homes and Gardens "Homemade Cookies Cook Book":</span><br />
<b>Chocolate Chippers</b><br />
1/2 cup shortening<br />
1/2 cup granulated sugar<br />
1/4 cup packed brown sugar<br />
1 egg<br />
1 teaspoon vanilla<br />
1 cup all purpose flour<br />
3/4 teaspoon salt<br />
1/2 teaspoon baking soda<br />
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips<br />
(I used 1/2 cup chocolate and 1/2 cup peanut butter chips here)<br />
1/2 cup broken nuts<br />
(I used walnuts)<br />
<br />
Cream together shortening, sugars, egg, and vanilla till light and fluffy. Thoroughly stir together flour, salt, and baking soda; stir into creamed mixture. Blend well. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to cool. Especially now that I have weddings to capture about 3-4 times a month all year round, I really NEEDED the perfect bag. If you haven't looked around my blog enough, you can check out the wedding cinema I do *<a href="http://www.shofilms.com/"><b>here</b></a>*!<br />
<br />
I've had the big bulky <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Tamrac-Velocity-Photo-Sling-Black/dp/B000P3ZB88/ref=pd_cp_p_0"><b>camera bag</b></a>, that in the end was just too annoying to deal with, you have to stack lenses between layers of velcro pads, (and it wouldn't sit on a flat surface unless laid down). I've also had a small similar version of that bag that held only the camera with a small lens attached. I've used a bag that was a cute and rectangular brown leatherette, but it did not have enough storage pockets. I've tried the usual rectangular boxy camera bag with lots of pockets, but alas... it was ugly and still not <i>enough</i>. Lets not talk about how I was using a <b><a href="http://distilleryimage2.s3.amazonaws.com/2cf4abc00b3811e28e0222000a1c8649_7.jpg">purse</a></b> that was not intended for camera gear for the past few months. Also, being 5 feet tall and tiny also has its drawbacks when dealing with large heavy balance throwing packs. <br />
<br />
So over the past year or two, maybe three, I have found myself pausing to swoon over the lovely camera bags that <a href="http://kellymoorebag.com/full.html/"><b>Kelly Moore</b></a> has to offer. I figured that, as a person who has been a photographer for nearly 6 years, and who officially has been doing <i>only </i>photo/video related things for a living for the past year, and ShoFilms weddings for almost a year and a half, it was time to invest in whatever bag that I wanted, and whatever bag that would keep my precious gear safe. I decided to go with the <a href="http://kellymoorebag.com/full/2sues-bag-mustard.html"><b>2 Sues</b></a> bag in mustard. <br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Finally, a mustard camera bag to call my own.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Here is my main wedding set up, and everything I was hoping to be able to fit in the 2 Sues bag.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmaOzzz2JY5-b2z8QezJ0Zy16NDa0lte__8lZ_0x88OpEygK51iSSFTJq0PN0dsHleoFO5VTEco7IRgJwe7ST3Pc1nXrxf2v8XpNQR9uQ6CaiuH2AAeyvF87BHRZe-jr33Ch7lFxhHWhbP/s1600/IMG_0758.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmaOzzz2JY5-b2z8QezJ0Zy16NDa0lte__8lZ_0x88OpEygK51iSSFTJq0PN0dsHleoFO5VTEco7IRgJwe7ST3Pc1nXrxf2v8XpNQR9uQ6CaiuH2AAeyvF87BHRZe-jr33Ch7lFxhHWhbP/s1600/IMG_0758.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">5dii with lens and monopod mount plate attached, a 35, an 85, lensbaby, charger and extra battery, phone, wallet, biz cards, advil, keys. I also have a bag of memory cards, but that's what the posey pocket on the back of the camera bag is for!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Happily everything fit! I definitely had a small amount of room to spare (for chapstick, snacks, etc), and I could totally carry my iPad comfortably if needed. Overall, without giving it a run through a wedding yet, I am pretty pleased with how it fits everything and how it feels on my shoulder. Loving how inconspicuous it is, as well! I would use this as a regular everyday purse in a second. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I am so looking forward to taking this out on it's first wedding, and I will be sure to update how it's working out for me! But I'm not going to lie - I totally want to pick up something from <a href="http://www.jototes.com/collections/all"><b>Jo Totes</b></a> as well. Oh, and the day that someone invents a cute monopod holster, I'll be first in line! Ha!<br />

This morning I made some simple pancakes and added nutmeg and cinnamon. <br />
Now this recipe is good, but I think I need to track down the family recipe... I can't remember if it was my aunt or my grandma who made it, but I need to get it!<br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;">Here is my version, adapted from <a href="http://hoosierhomemade.com/zucchini-bread/"><b>here</b></a>:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">2 eggs</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">1 cup white sugar</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">1 cup brown sugar</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">1 cup oil</span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;">1 teaspoon cinnamon</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">1 teaspoon salt</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">1 teaspoon baking soda</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">1/4 teaspoon baking powder</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">1 table spoon sour cream</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">3 cups flour</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">2 cups zucchini, grated</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">1 cup nuts, chopped (I used almonds because I had them </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">frozen and chopped and ready from making macaroons)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease and flour bread pans.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Beat eggs in large bowl, until foamy.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Add sugar, oil and vanilla, mix well.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Add cinnamon, salt, soda, and baking powder. Mix well. Add sour cream.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Add the flour and zucchini alternately, mixing well after each addition. Fold in nuts.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Bake for about 20 mins for muffins, 35-40 mins for loaves.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />

I want to see more and more and I think it would be pretty darn awesome to have my own photo or two printed on dresses! Seriously, could this picture perfect trend be any better?! Photo and dress nerds everywhere, unite! </span><br />

<a href="http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/543255_10100333350200928_60711097_41842908_1913963562_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
Just wanted to take a minute to say I'm a red head again! I can never stay away for too long. I'm always hopping back and forth between various blondes and various reds. Lucky for me my hairdresser is a master highlight artist and easily turns red into blonde whenever I want! For now though, I think this red will be here for a while. Its a "coppery mahogany" now, and I might experiment with berry reds and bright reds later.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/559542_10100323172871378_60711097_41804003_601410899_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/559542_10100323172871378_60711097_41804003_601410899_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Also, I got this cute dress! <br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/543255_10100333350200928_60711097_41842908_1913963562_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/543255_10100333350200928_60711097_41842908_1913963562_n.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
That's all for now! Check out some cute pictures from the other day from a photo date with Andrea (with my new lens) <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mindisue/6973945694/in/photostream">HERE</a> and <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mindisue/7129965309/in/photostream/">HERE</a>!</div>

Maybe it was two celebs. Or three. I sure do, and it's kind of funny. Enter first inspiration: Shakira. When I first saw her "Whenever, Wherever" video, black eyeliner became a staple in my life. I also decided that a perm was a good idea because of her (even though my hair is naturally curly already). And boy am I glad I already had blonde hair. Hahah, ohhh being a young impressionable 13 year old.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://c.wrzuta.pl/wi11085/f5c5a0fe0002e78c462a2752/shakira_whenever_wherever_suerte_2001" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="243" src="http://c.wrzuta.pl/wi11085/f5c5a0fe0002e78c462a2752/shakira_whenever_wherever_suerte_2001" width="320" /></a></div>
The love of black eyeliner has evolved over the years from a sloppy thick line, to a now perfected and delicate wing. Here are some of my latest experiments with adding some color to my black liner. <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<br />
Mary Kate and Ashley also played a part in my "look" inspiration with their layered shabby chic baggy and fitted style. You will find me in layers and oversize clothing 90% of the time. But you better believe that my style mirrored theirs as we "grew up together". I totally had some of their wal-mart line clothing for preteens and loved their magazine back in the day.<br />

I love using blogger very much, so turning a blog that I have long ago emptied, into something that looks like a website for my photography is great! I was using tumblr as a "website" but found that embedding videos or issuu documents just wasn't gonna happen how I wanted. It was customizable, but not as much as I could figure out or want. So without further adieu, check out <b><a href="http://mindisuephotography.blogspot.com/">www.mindisue.com</a></b>! <br />
<br />
<i>Now onto the window shopping!</i><br />
<br />
With the approaching date of iPhone ownership fast approaching, I have been checking out some really awesome cases! There are really endless options on <b><a href="http://society6.com/">society6.com</a></b>, and not just for cases! I got lost for well over an hour just checking out the artwork. Anyways, here are some of my favorite cases! Its difficult not to want a ton of them!<br />

I have been checking out another one of my favorite websites, <a href="http://makemechic.com/"><b>makemechic.com</b></a>, for some shoe peeping. Here are a couple more favorites! I love wearing boots of all types, but I am ready for some nice weather so I can wear some flats and sandals!<br />

Probably because sharing is one of my all time favorite things and what better thing to share than baked treats? (Some far away friends should be expecting a package soon!) I saved two for The Beard and I, and of course I ate the ugly cracked one as soon as I was finished. <br />

We joined forces, bounced ideas back and forth, and these lil babies were born. </span></div>

I really wanted a sweet breakfast today, but alas... no syrup. BUT WAIT! I have a very sad 3oz of cream cheese sitting miserably in its foil wrapper? I have some blackberry jam? Stuffed french toast it is.<br />

Sometimes its fun to make breakfast a little over-extravagant. It was 4 pieces of french toast tall, stuffed to the brim with the cream cheese and jam mixture, and I could hardly finish it. I ended up leaving one slice of french toast on the plate... poor, delicious, soggy leftovers that we probably, um, definitely won't eat.<br />

I always forget how easy and tasty they are... Plus I made them for around $12 and with just the two of us, we have leftovers for a couple days. I always post pictures of these on Facebook and pals have asked for the recipe multiple times. I guess now is the time to reveal it's glory.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip4I8XBbSkh2Esg6FF1576jmNJ6EOTStW6WQJgGlTw8DezThpwwi-dPnCIP2zcN3Dd3y-M1OxrRH9alvtmtctYTxmLapFa8h7uHfOrUhORNNov1Q9i0S_dOcqXmGA_Y4XrqPiT1fVKufOd/s1600/a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip4I8XBbSkh2Esg6FF1576jmNJ6EOTStW6WQJgGlTw8DezThpwwi-dPnCIP2zcN3Dd3y-M1OxrRH9alvtmtctYTxmLapFa8h7uHfOrUhORNNov1Q9i0S_dOcqXmGA_Y4XrqPiT1fVKufOd/s400/a.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">This is a recipe that my dad gave me and I added a little of my own stuff to it (like the shrimp, rice, and shredded cheese). These certainly could be spiced up with some black beans and other fillings. Yum. Also, if you make the filling with more milk it makes an amazing pasta sauce. Just sayin'.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Seafood Enchiladas </span><br />
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">1 stick of butter</span></i><br />
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">8 tablespoons of flour</span></i><br />
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">2 cups of milk</span></i><br />
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">8oz pepperjack cheese block<br />8oz pack of lobster</span></i><br />
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">8oz pack of crab</span></i><br />
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">small package of salad shrimp</span></i><br />
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">shredded cheese</span></i><br />
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">3 cooked cups of rice</span></i><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><i><span style="font-size: x-small;">package of tortilla shells</span></i></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">The first step is to make the sauce. You do this by first making a roux: melt the butter on low to medium heat, add the flour one tablespoon at a time stirring the whole time. Once that is all smooth and mixed, slowly slowly slowly add the milk. I added my 2 cups in about 8 small pours with stirring in between each splash of milk. You can add the chopped up block of cheese a few pieces at a time and stir until its all melted.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: small;">Toss in the seafood, then add a dash of cayenne pepper. Mix well! </span><br />

Introducing: <i>Buffalo Chicken Jalapeno Cheddar Cornbread Cupcakes with Popcorn Chicken on top</i> <br />
<br />
I was inspired to makes these from a crazy version our friend Anna Marie posted on the Beard's facebook wall. The link featured a sweet cupcake with a buttercream frosting WITH a whole buffalo wing on top. Ew, gross, gag. UGH! We and several more friends shared a conversation on this facebook post and ideas of blue cheese and cornbread were tossed around. That's when I chimed in with "What about <span class="commentBody" data-jsid="text">cornbread cupcakes with buffalo chicken dip (with extra cream cheese) frosting/filling. With a
popcorn chicken covered in buffalo sauce on top." A few minutes later I added "</span><span class="commentBody" data-jsid="text">Ohhhh maybe even a cheddar jalapeno cornbread. omgggg." So here it is, with a little how-to. </span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="commentBody" data-jsid="text">* </span></div>
<span class="commentBody" data-jsid="text"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkh0y0sjXSJRjKBIGKowpJfNkMW7gxdl0rGkSpHMimOzo9sdF01a1nH-cvDQK2iU3OI6QjTRijpNdT4pZPMj-_ge-zmdn9POh5518HoLb41T4sCBafgVccsf-A56QOh2bQ59lCXWbjbc4T/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkh0y0sjXSJRjKBIGKowpJfNkMW7gxdl0rGkSpHMimOzo9sdF01a1nH-cvDQK2iU3OI6QjTRijpNdT4pZPMj-_ge-zmdn9POh5518HoLb41T4sCBafgVccsf-A56QOh2bQ59lCXWbjbc4T/s400/2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I used the cheapest versions of everything I could find, except I didn't end up using the butter. I made the cornbread mix like it told me on the side of the box then I added canned jalapenos and shredded cheddar cheese until it looked right. Not too much, not too little. I baked them in foil cups for a little more than 15 minutes. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikZkXfmedIgEDodhwFikRP8LG9_mauUuep4yhGY99c7z5XtA8k7F8_PmjcFzyc5oS-ZUGjxZNjxFno6KXsmm6Nn9vDGbQn2hnKbw4CjN04v_gyqd9qURLUxIC4CZW8JnwXazy4mZ1utcml/s1600/4.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikZkXfmedIgEDodhwFikRP8LG9_mauUuep4yhGY99c7z5XtA8k7F8_PmjcFzyc5oS-ZUGjxZNjxFno6KXsmm6Nn9vDGbQn2hnKbw4CjN04v_gyqd9qURLUxIC4CZW8JnwXazy4mZ1utcml/s400/4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
While they baked, I made the buffalo chicken dip "frosting" and filling. It is made up of 12oz of cream cheese, a can of chicken breast, shredded mexican cheese, jalapeno ranch dressing, and of course - lots of buffalo sauce. The only real measurment you have to worry about is the cream cheese. From there its about half the bottle of ranch, two big handfuls of cheese, the whole can of chicken, then buffalo sauce until it all looks and tastes right. I usually bake this when I am serving it as a dip, but since it was going to be going in and on the "cupcakes", I just microwaved it a little to melt the cheese. After you heat it up, pour it all into a plastic baggy and cool it in the fridge.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii6JD8SCAro8_tv_CmRP1DRaOuoxdrJ831IKECcm9Ntz8HDmLcU7S-KU9h5lfjYgo_jMVnFScC0Nh5iq2lwrFWoluM5O5b6KIb7b-eDx_aiav7Z_kiSz0M9pY5rEkiivQgfb27m_Uruiwi/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii6JD8SCAro8_tv_CmRP1DRaOuoxdrJ831IKECcm9Ntz8HDmLcU7S-KU9h5lfjYgo_jMVnFScC0Nh5iq2lwrFWoluM5O5b6KIb7b-eDx_aiav7Z_kiSz0M9pY5rEkiivQgfb27m_Uruiwi/s400/3.jpg" width="266" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Once your cheddar jalapeno cupcakes are done baking, let them cool for a while on a wire rack. They will smell amazing at this point!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqXJty5YILWKGiPG5NFeRpEWVSF4kVzZjjEHVvKD3USB8bIYNptw0USfQrgTXwzmCA_xwh9sGr_H6rMk_fIIA0v8yDevMtu-yDU3ljVu6C6fz1kdZmexxHilAQfPiYHhvacolzgylL8ENx/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqXJty5YILWKGiPG5NFeRpEWVSF4kVzZjjEHVvKD3USB8bIYNptw0USfQrgTXwzmCA_xwh9sGr_H6rMk_fIIA0v8yDevMtu-yDU3ljVu6C6fz1kdZmexxHilAQfPiYHhvacolzgylL8ENx/s400/5.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You can take this opportunity to bake your popcorn chicken toppers and
make yourself a little captain and coke. (You worked hard so far, you
deserve it! haha).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyJ-NNTYF01SSPf4XTpflWU975gTvIzyD_iyRb7IdIVx6XOOtyZhlp_iEd9YtlmMCVIsTUFZAni1raNHHYtuJXrW018m_XAjEUPEVv7DtaXZZbtu0vaMH2IdDku88h6w9PpvIgJIOZ39SK/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyJ-NNTYF01SSPf4XTpflWU975gTvIzyD_iyRb7IdIVx6XOOtyZhlp_iEd9YtlmMCVIsTUFZAni1raNHHYtuJXrW018m_XAjEUPEVv7DtaXZZbtu0vaMH2IdDku88h6w9PpvIgJIOZ39SK/s400/6.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Once your cupcakes are cool, take a knife and cut out cone shaped holes. Take your baggy of buffalo chicken dip from the fridge and cut off the corner. Fill up the holes with the dip and try not to squeeze the dip into your mouth from the baggy, please. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXj4KQjkdDPHvEwgPj6LwZMT8qjbDLDJVrUWrIfJrSLz5LU37TbT3obx0Gfhs1y6cDLKu91-FcLEUtNMTSiPMhJFR9Qn8dHJ2xPLy2etlT-w_SP7wXX4PGypgk5EhNYYWZqmavghGcv8b0/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXj4KQjkdDPHvEwgPj6LwZMT8qjbDLDJVrUWrIfJrSLz5LU37TbT3obx0Gfhs1y6cDLKu91-FcLEUtNMTSiPMhJFR9Qn8dHJ2xPLy2etlT-w_SP7wXX4PGypgk5EhNYYWZqmavghGcv8b0/s400/7.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Frost the tops with more buffalo chicken dip, add a popcorn chicken, then drizzle with more buffalo sauce! And there you have it! Delicious jalapeno cheddar "cupcakes" with buffalo chicken dip "frosting" and filling with a popcorn chicken on top, drizzled with buffalo sauce! They are probably a fork and plate worthy appetizer, unless you are a brave soul. I can't wait to share these with pals, and take them to a super bowl party, and generally use them as a bribe for if I want the Beard to do girly things with me. Haha!<br />
<br />
Let me know if you try these out! You will love them, I promise.<br />

I've always loved collecting and I would always like to get all of whatever was in the "set" or "collection" including all of the color variations. This method of collecting little treasures has adapted into my "grown-up" life, and I think <a href="http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110505072823/disney/images/b/bc/Littlemermaid.jpg" target="_blank"><b>Ariel</b></a> had a lot to do with this... her and her darn <a href="http://adisneyland.disney.go.com/media/dlr_v0200/en_US/blueskycellar/media/23-LittleMermaid.jpg" target="_blank"><b>grotto</b></a>. I'm just glad I don't have a fork collection. <span style="font-size: x-small;">(Side note, I love the innernet: <a href="http://claudia-r.deviantart.com/art/The-Little-Mermaid-207156409" target="_blank"><b>lolz</b></a>).</span><br />
<br />
As a person who no longer needs a bushel of electronic pets large enough to knock someone out, I have moved on to vintage housewares. Any and all of it. I've always had an affinity for items of the past, but it really came into full swing once I realized that one day I would have my own home to fill and decorate. I wanted ALL the old things. I was (and still am) just stopping in the thrift store real quick to see if there is a mug, or a dish set, an embroidered wall hanging, or a serving platter, an afghan, a macrame owl, or a piece of furniture I might need. A good bit of the time I find clothing and accessories, but most times its housewares. <br />

One of my best memories of scoring an amazing vintage item was when I was about 10 years old. My dad was selling our old pedal boat at our favorite campground. There was an amazing antique mall just a few miles away and he promised me that if the boat sold that weekend, we could go back and I could get the purse I saw there the other day. In my head, "get" meant "save". Because I HAD TO <i>SAVE</i> THE POOR LITTLE ALLIGATOR THAT WAS TURNED INTO A PURSE!<br />
<br />
Next time, I think I'll share my collection of old coffee mugs! What was your first beloved old or vintage find?<br />

I have tons of different brands, but I must say that e.l.f. polish is top on my list of favorites for the quality, color selection, and of course it's practically free price tag. It recently went up from one dollar to two dollars but... THAT IS STILL SO CHEAP! Plus they say it went up in price because of new improved formula. I'm okay with that because I thought it was awesome already.<br />
<br />
I placed an order online last week when they had free shipping for facebook pals, where I picked a holiday color 5 pack, a matte finisher, dark navy, and smokey brown. I also picked up a couple other things that I can't live without (eyeliner marker, studio blush...), but I will save that for another day. <br />

So what did I do with my new fancy colors? I did a little ombre sparkle technique. I used two coats of smokey brown on all of my nails except my ring finger nails where I used two coats of mod mauve. I let that dry for a while before adding some golden goddess glitter on about half of my ring finger nail.<br />
<br />
Here is a peek at my e.l.f. nail polish collection. You should totally check them out, I use so many of their products and can't say enough good things about them. <br />

I blame my new red hand mixer and cute cupcake papers, but who knows. Maybe I just like having baked goods with my coffee for breakfast. I'm not sure where the idea came from but I urgently needed to make peanut butter cupcakes. Like, I <i>had</i> to make them. Had to. I am so glad I did. I searched around the innernet but only found some generic recipes that used oil or shortening which I don't like to use. That is when I concocted this masterpiece:<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-KgY0GWfsCI-Bo1u96WjWg6kPLzfPCK78P_fQPR4k5NDLMy82A4QngVSIstrRwDBi21zvlFi1dUYn1QRiC_t09s8wXk-_54lNfrdsxs699orwFMt-ilN_syzT_57Jnx3OFxxHxNvcgxon/s1600/IMG_7473.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-KgY0GWfsCI-Bo1u96WjWg6kPLzfPCK78P_fQPR4k5NDLMy82A4QngVSIstrRwDBi21zvlFi1dUYn1QRiC_t09s8wXk-_54lNfrdsxs699orwFMt-ilN_syzT_57Jnx3OFxxHxNvcgxon/s400/IMG_7473.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">To die for!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<i>Peanut Butter & Nutella Cupcakes:</i><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">6 tablespoons unsalted butter at room temperature<br />1/2 cup peanut butter </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">1/4 cup Nutella </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">
1 cup packed brown sugar</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">1 cup flour<br />
1 teaspoon baking powder<br />
1/4 teaspoon salt<br />
1 egg<br />1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">1/2 cup "super skim" milk </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">I mixed up the flour, baking powder, and salt in my cute green bowl (you must use a cute bowl or it will ruin everything) and set that aside. Then I mixed up the butter, brown sugar, and Nutella with my beloved lil red hand mixer. After that was all nice and smooth (and smelling wonderful already) I added the egg and the vanilla. Then accidentally spilled in a few extra drips of vanilla. I then added about a third of the dry mix and kept mixing. Then half the milk. Then another third of the dry mix. Then the other half of the milk. Then the rest of the dry mix. Kept on mixing. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">At this point my brown sugar turned into little clumps so I smooshed them out with a spatula. Finally I took my cookie scoop and put two balls of batter into the 12 purple houndstooth cupcake liners (again, your cupcake liners must be cute or else you're going to botch this whole recipe). Baked 'em at 350 for about 25 minutes and kept sneaking big whiffs of the delightful peanut butter scent that was filling the kitchen. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">I let them cool for about 20 minutes on a wire rack before I topped them with a dainty amount of Nutella as frosting. </span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;">I had thought about making these a PB&J kinda cupcake with some blackberry buttercream (like I did <b><a href="http://cherrisue.blogspot.com/2011/12/cupcakes-for-kyna.html" target="_blank">here</a></b>) but I think I will save that for next time. Nutella was easier.. and obviously delish. </span>At this point I could no longer stand just looking at them and I promptly enjoyed one. These guys are amazing. If you have milk to drink when you are eating them, do it. Especially if they are the teensiest bit still warm inside. They are so soft and moist and peanut buttery and the Nutella adds just enough pizazz to make you one happy person. It felt like an illegal treat and I might have gotten in trouble at any second. Let me know if you try these out!<br />

Sometimes my online window shopping turns into accidental purchases. Here is what I accidentally bought today, on sale. Oops.<br />
<br />
First I fortuitously bought *<b><a href="http://www.freepeople.com/About-Town-Cardi/" target="_blank">this</a></b>* sale cardigan from FreePeople. I can't wait to style it in basically an almost identical way. I am SUCH a sucker for drapey and oversized layers. I can't help it. I love them and they love me. Its a love story, really.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR-nYHKWbDLE2qKijSF_rh9hGZ9R27BHBT2dYkTDMcdEY9b6AMEzsj-k_KE60nd3KboOb-fMJaS7BYCkD7MjoaUY_1g7BKXJva6pMyG8G49nUvP7hcPXPxpRttpCR-ddpAJJkJUlM6hbu2/s1600/Screen+shot+2012-01-06+at+12.27.44+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR-nYHKWbDLE2qKijSF_rh9hGZ9R27BHBT2dYkTDMcdEY9b6AMEzsj-k_KE60nd3KboOb-fMJaS7BYCkD7MjoaUY_1g7BKXJva6pMyG8G49nUvP7hcPXPxpRttpCR-ddpAJJkJUlM6hbu2/s400/Screen+shot+2012-01-06+at+12.27.44+PM.png" width="260" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Then I had an argument with myself on whether or not to get a sale wrap-scarf-fringed-blanket also from FreePeople. Then I realized it was 75 inches long and I am a mere 60 inches tall. That wasn't going to work. (Even though I was trying to tell myself I could belt it and wrap it up so it wasn't trailing 5 inches behind me in the snowy Pittsburgh slush.) <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">not happening. way too long. :/</td></tr>

<br />
I eventually talked myself out of it, and found myself on UrbanOutfitters. There I made up for the sale wrap-scarf-fringed-blanket dilemma with a much more appropriate length <a href="http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=23135833&color=001&color=001&itemdescription=true&navAction=jump&search=true&isProduct=true&parentid=SEARCH+RESULTS" target="_blank"><b>*poncho*</b></a> with fringe. AND it was 5 dollars cheaper. Win.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
Oh 2011, you were absolutely jam packed with work, craziness, shock, and awe. Where to begin!?</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
In mid January I actually had a whole entire weekend off, so the beard and I scooted up to Niagara Falls on a whim. We pulled in around 2am, got our hotel then went to the casino! Ross was playing blackjack while I was playing a penny slot machine nearby. Next thing you know, DING DING DING! I won $300 with pennies! Then next day I had my very first Tim Horton's breakfast. To die for. I am very jealous of all the regions that get to enjoy this place on a regular basis. After that we checked out the falls in 3 degree temperatures. It was sunny, but boy was it cold!</div>

Some <i>really</i> great things happened in February. I got a<b> <a href="http://lensbaby.com/lenses-composer.php" target="_blank">LensBaby</a></b> with my winnings from Niagara Falls, did a collaborative film, <a href="http://vimeo.com/21169982" target="_blank"><b>O CAĆADOR</b></a>, with Kristin, Paris, Kyna, and Oscar, had my first photoshoot with Taylor and the LensBaby in a nightclub, and did photos for some very lovely ladies who were preparing to start their blog, <a href="http://aintthattheberriesgals.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><b>Ain't That The Berries</b></a>! I also helped out shooting and directing a music video, "<a href="http://vimeo.com/25728763" target="_blank"><b>I'm Staying</b></a>" for <a href="http://www.jadelundgren.com/" target="_blank"><b>Jade Lundgren</b></a> with our budding cinema business, <a href="http://www.shofilms.com/" target="_blank"><b>ShoFilms</b></a>.</div>

March had some more fun times! I did another little fashion film, <a href="http://vimeo.com/21466600" target="_blank"><b>Jupe En Dentelle</b></a>, with Kristin and styled by Sam inside a super cute cafe in the South Side called Zennith. I sewed up an outfit for Andrea to model for an assignment in my advertising class. Andrea and I started crafting BIG time for a photoshoot that was to happen in June of her adorable neice. Ross, my favorite beard, celebrated his 29th birthday by playing a benefit hockey game for MDA.</div>

April was a bit of a slower month, but I had my first nice weather photoshoot of the year with Megan, followed by a photoshoot in the studio with Kait, then a fun shoot with Patrick. All three of these shoots produced images for my portfolio! I had a nice Easter and a nice Easter mojito with the family, and Butters sat on my lap for goldfish crackers.</div>

Wow, was May great and busy! I got a glimpse of an old office space turining into the ShoFilms studio. Butters decided that the fan would make a good place to sit. I had THE most epic photoshoot of the year: I drove up to Lake Erie where Kyna and I made a dress on the spot for model Andria to wear. We both got some amazing portfolio shots. Next up I had shoots with Rachel and Alex, followed by a mini lookbook for CrazyHotClothes with Nicole, Courtney, and Mike. Again, I got images from each shoot for my portfolio! I also starting doing a ton of diptychs. </div>

On to June! I was overjoyed to photograph Christy & Christian's engagement session before they moved away to Florida. I finally got to photograph baby Ads with the props that Andrea and I started crafting back in March, and the most exciting thing, we at <b><a href="http://www.shofilms.com/" target="_blank">ShoFilms</a></b> captured our very first cinematic wedding of <a href="http://vimeo.com/25725451" target="_blank"><b>Sarah + Jake</b></a>, and the studio was finished! September: Graduation Month! I finished up my portfolio, made promo lip balms with my logo stickers, made 5 million cakepops with the help of Andrea for the portfolio review, and SOMEHOW made it to the show and set up everything and didn't forget one thing. I won best in show and Ross gave me a pretty citrine graduation ring. Oh, and McDonald's forgot to put a patty on Andrea's cheeseburger. haha. That was a crucial moment of September. Also, one of the weddings we filmed ended up in my top 3 favorites of the year,<a href="http://vimeo.com/30263545" target="_blank"><b> Andria + Stephen</b></a>. Gorgeous. Stunning. Perfect.</div>

December was the month of baking. I helped Andrea make some cupcakes for a bakesale, and of course the tons of cookies I made for Christmas. I tried making macaroons, and made some more fun cupcakes on my own. I got some of my favorite shots of prep while filming a wedding yet. I watched Edward Scissorhands again, and wished I lived in a town that looks the same. I made my most perfect circle in a square granny square ever and painted my nails red for the first time. Ross and I spoiled Butters with new toys and a special treat mix. I had a great Christmas with friends and family, and had sushi on Christmas eve. We had a very cold apartment for a few days, and I was able to share some photos of Ernesta from a magazine shoot back in September. I also got a funny coffee mug that looks just like a camera lens from our friends.</div>

<i>Green Tea Cupcakes with Blackberry Buttercream</i> to be exact.<br />
<br />
I used <i><b><a href="http://cupcakeblog.com/?p=155" target="_blank">this</a></b></i> recipe as a start, but used the contents of 3 all natural organic green tea bags instead of matcha and I nixed the pomegranate seeds. Although I totally want to try the recipe as is very soon!<br />

I used the strawberry buttercream section in <a href="http://une-deuxsenses.blogspot.com/2010/08/green-tea-strawberry-cupcakes.html" target="_blank"><i><b>this</b></i></a> recipe as a guide for my blackberry buttercream!<br />

<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mindisue/6581853541/in/photostream/" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" target="_blank"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7024/6581853541_5d3d573b17.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">vintage plates + cupcakes = perfection</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Here they are! Cute lil cupcakes with slightly melted frosting! Off to deliver some of them to my long lost friend <b><a href="http://kynamarie.tumblr.com/" target="_blank">Kyna</a></b> who is home from NYC for a couple days!<br />
<br />
Mental notes for next time: finally invest in some piping bags so the icing can be pretty and add more like 2 1/2 scoops (instead of 2) of batter from my cookie scoop for bigger cupcakes!<br />
<br />
