Christmas eve started with lunch with my dad and Gretchen at Little Tokyo in Mt Lebanon! There is some tempura shrimp, white tuna, red tuna, and scallop sushi... I don't remember the fancy names, but it was alllll amaaazing! Then for dessert we had, I think it was Mochi, in green tea and red bean flavors! I could eat there every day. Even the hot tea was dee-lish.
Then my dad showed me how to make long island iced teas!
Then we made a billion sprit cookies with my grandma's recipe!
Then we had an amazing beef tenderloin, which is basically a giant hunk of filet mignon!
And then a night of present opening and A Christmas Story!
I got a great collection of Wok cooking things, ingredients and a special hand me down copy of Creative Wok Cooking, a book that my dad has had and cooked from since I was little. Real special! I can't wait to cook the recipes I grew up with inside! I also got that cute yellow magazine rack from Gretchy from etsy, and a metal mushroom tin recipe card holder!
So, this was a very great Christmas to finish off 2009, which happens to be the best year ever!
I got these cute fabric sets with the money! The top one is yellow themed adorable stuff arriving from Japan. The bottom set is gonna be a mixed up surprise from California; the picture is just an example of what fabrics I could get. It'll be a yard (in weight) of different fabric remnants starting at at least 6 inches wide! That is perfect for pouches. Can't wait!

So I'm celebrating with catching up on dishes, cleaning up my pile of homework next to my computer, and vacuuming. All while incorporating lots of coffee and watching ghost hunters. Haha. Then I'm gonna make some new pouches, and try crocheting or knitting some cute head bands with a cute button or something attached.

I want to just stay home all day and make cute things. I wanna sew, work on my g'sqz blanket (which is only about 12 5x5 squares so far), finish knitting the several hats I have going... who needs a job, a seasonal job, and four classes??? Well, I'd keep going to class... although i'm into never working again! hah. But then I wouldn't have money to keep buying all the adorable gifts for my pals and family (and myself...) on etsy like I have been doing, oh, we'll say every day for the past week!
and at least i have finished one pretty yellow hat recently!
So these are just some ideas so i dont forget how i wanna decorate..
Pretty colored vintage books to put in stacks as candle holders, vase holders, random glass thing holders, etc... there are so many old books with beautiful colors and stamped designs on the hard covers... they'll make such a pretty "shelf".
~~~
Not sure if i would want to actually put candles in something like this, but i like how they were sprayed such a great aqua blue.
~~~
I love birdies, its only right that I have a vintage bird cage.. or two.

Why not use an old sewing table organizer wherever i want? I could stack a couple of those books next to this with a big giant pillar candle and put it all on top of some kind of cute knit / crochet mat.
~~~
These would look so pretty sitting in the window... I want to get all different kinds of little glass jars, bottles, etc..
Self explanatory, why have a doorbell when cute door knockers like this are out there!
~~~
not only is this clock wooden and adorable, but you put it together yourself!

this has been an exciting week. why? within a couple days three bands contacted me to do promo photos, and i have been able to update my etsy shop, and i had a little photoshoot with jen for fun. i was going through my binder of photos and film from my classes last quarter and found some self portraits that i really love, so i uploaded those to flickr along with the jen shoot. i really miss that class!
as far as hats go, i am working on that owl knit hat i blogged about a lil while ago. im about half way through the owls belly!

The zippers and one of the fabrics have arrived! Here are some quick and weird colored cell pics of two pouches I've made so far. I need to find a place to photograph these guys for real and get them in my shop! Same thing for the two scarves I have finished. yay! (CherriSue.etsy.com)
