The zippers and one of the fabrics have arrived! Here are some quick and weird colored cell pics of two pouches I've made so far. I need to find a place to photograph these guys for real and get them in my shop! Same thing for the two scarves I have finished. yay! (CherriSue.etsy.com)
So, since my two trial zip pouches turned out, I went ahead and bought 15 colorful 5 inch zippers for $5.50 last night. (So many 5's!) I ordered them on Etsy from kandcsupplies and they already shipped! Woah!!!! My next plan is buying a bunch of fat quarters, which is a quarter of a yard of fabric rolled up with another quarter of different fabric! i have two so far with 4 different fabrics per bundle from Michael's. The fabric i'm eyeing up on Etsy is so much cuter and cheaper, especially the Japanese fabrics!
yay! cant wait til they get here! :D
that's right! i did it! i had two zippers, and i made two pouches!
the yellow with orange and blue flowers and dots, is lined with orange gingham inside and has belt loops on the back just incase you need free hands :)
the blue one is a lil smaller with flowers and branches with brown leaves and branches inside. it also has little squared off edges so it kinda stands up like a cosmetic bag.
they both used 7 inch zippers, and are both lined with no raw edges showing! i cant wait to get more zippers and make more!
p.s. please excuse the cell phone pics!
I have been very busy with knitting lately. I've created two cowl scarves so far, and they are seriously a few hour project, so its easy to whip out a bunch quickly. Also, i've been using yarn that is made from natural items, versus man made stuff.. you know, plastic vs alpaca. so they are all very gorgeous in texture and color. I've also been working on making some hats, as usual, but I figured out how to make designs with alternating colors... for instance, the one im working on now is my favorite shade of teal-ish turquoise-ish with solid stripes of a cranberry red, and a row of little hearts. exciting!
One last thing, i have really been wanting to make zipper coin, cosmetic, etc pouches lately but was getting aggravated cause i need to buy some 4 inch zippers. BUT! I ended up going through this little box i have filled with scraps and fat quarters... I HAVE A ZIPPER! apparently i got prepared to make pouches before? So i just need to find some time!
