I spent the cold and blustery snow day indoors, baking from my thrift store find, the 1975 Better Homes and Gardens "Homemade Cookies Cook Book". Something inspired me to make a prety little video instead of just doing the usual endless step by step process photos, so here it is. A lil 4'ish minute long how-to video to follow along with. The recipe is below!
Recipe from 1975 Better Homes and Gardens "Homemade Cookies Cook Book":
Chocolate Chippers
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
(I used 1/2 cup chocolate and 1/2 cup peanut butter chips here)
1/2 cup broken nuts
(I used walnuts)
Cream together shortening, sugars, egg, and vanilla till light and fluffy. Thoroughly stir together flour, salt, and baking soda; stir into creamed mixture. Blend well. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to cool.
